Rebecca Stacey has been Head Teacher here at Castle Carrock since September 2014. Passionate about education, Rebecca firmly believes that all children can succeed and all children should be given the opportunity to do so! She trained as a teacher at the Institute of Education in London. She considers herself to have the best job in the world!
Class 1 Teacher - SENCO
Kathryn worked in finance and then in retail before pursuing a career in teaching and has been teaching for 19 years.
Kathryn studied at the University of Chester and completed a Bachelor of Education (Honours) Degree, studying English Language and Literature as a main subject. She specialised in teaching Early Years and Key stage 1. Whilst at University, she travelled to Spain to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL.)
After graduating in 1996, Kathryn taught in schools in Manchester and Cheshire for ten years.
Kathryn moved back with her family to Cumbria ten years ago and feels very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country. She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends and going into the Lakes fell walking. She is a very keen, (but not necessarily very good) skier!
Kathryn is passionate about working with Early Years children and in exploring the different ways in which they learn, using both the indoor and outdoor environments.

Nicky has been teaching for over 20 years. She gained her BA Hons degree with specialisms in Art and Outdoor Education which she then pursued working in the USA and Canada before returning to the UK.
Once back in the UK she pursued her interest in the outdoors by working with the Lake District National Park Wardens, Ullswater Outward Bound School and the British Trust for Conservation. Her knowledge and love for the Lake District Fells has enabled her to pursue her interest in Fell Running.
Her teaching career started whilst she was living in Yorkshire for 9 years before returning to Cumbria 12 years ago and has now been at Castle Carrock School for 8 years.

After five years working as a teaching assistant at Castle Carrock School, Jane is currently doing a Straight to Teaching QTS course, at school, in conjunction with the TES Institute. Unlike traditional teacher training routes, the S2T course means Jane can be trained on the job. She is being mentored by Kathryn Grayson and supported by Miss Stacey. Training programmes are bespoke and can take up to five terms to gain the QTS certificate..

Class 2 Teacher
This is Mr Kirby's first teaching post, having recently completed his PGCE training and NQT year in Class 2 at Castle Carrock School.
In 2010 he completed a BA Hons degree in Combined Honours of Criminology with Social Policy at the University of Central Lancashire before spending 4 years working as team leader in a residential home with teenagers in care.
More recently he changed career paths and through Carlisle School Direct completed his training through extended in-classroom placements here at Castle Carrock School and at Brampton Primary School, as well as visiting and experiencing teaching in a range of other schools.
In his spare time, he is a sports enthusiast and you may see him running or cycling all over the local area trying to get the miles in!
Class 4 Teacher
Alastair has been teaching at Castle Carrock for 3 years. He gained his LLB Law degree from Central Lancashire in 2004, then worked in catering management for a number of years before taking his PGCE in Primary Education at the University of Cumbria. He considers converting to education as one of the best decisions he ever made.
Alastair is a keen musician, and enjoys trying a range of instruments including piano, guitar and drums. He also enjoys live music ranging from musicals to rock concerts. Having grown up in Cumbria, he is a Carlisle United fan, and also enjoys tennis and American football. He has developed a passion for enabling children to try a range of sports.

Apprentice Teaching Assistant
A former pupil of William Howard School, Louisa started working at Castle Carrock Kids Club in November 2016 whilst still at school. Louisa began her Level 2 Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching and Learning in September 2018 where she enjoys working across both KS1 and KS2.
Whilst not in work, Louisa enjoy being in the great outdoors, spending time with her horse and dog and can turn her hand to a bit of gardening! She loves to sew and makes gifts for family and friends.
