Rebecca Stacey has been Head Teacher here at Castle Carrock since September 2014. Passionate about education, Rebecca firmly believes that all children can succeed and all children should be given the opportunity to do so! She trained as a teacher at the Institute of Education in London. She considers herself to have the best job in the world!
Class 1 Teacher - SENCO
Kathryn worked in finance and then in retail before pursuing a career in teaching and has been teaching for 19 years.
Kathryn studied at the University of Chester and completed a Bachelor of Education (Honours) Degree, studying English Language and Literature as a main subject. She specialised in teaching Early Years and Key stage 1. Whilst at University, she travelled to Spain to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL.)
After graduating in 1996, Kathryn taught in schools in Manchester and Cheshire for ten years.
Kathryn moved back with her family to Cumbria ten years ago and feels very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country. She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends and going into the Lakes fell walking. She is a very keen, (but not necessarily very good) skier!
Kathryn is passionate about working with Early Years children and in exploring the different ways in which they learn, using both the indoor and outdoor environments.
Class 1 Teacher - Outdoor Learning Link
Nicky has been teaching for over 20 years. She gained her BA Hons degree with specialisms in Art and Outdoor Education which she then pursued working in the USA and Canada before returning to the UK.
Once back in the UK she pursued her interest in the outdoors by working with the Lake District National Park Wardens, Ullswater Outward Bound School and the British Trust for Conservation. Her knowledge and love for the Lake District Fells has enabled her to pursue her interest in Fell Running.
Her teaching career started whilst she was living in Yorkshire for 9 years before returning to Cumbria 12 years ago and has now been at Castle Carrock School for 8 years.
Class 2 Teacher - Student Teacher Support
Susan has been at Castle Carrock for fifteen years! She grew up in Wales, where some of the rural communities are very similar to those in Cumbria and having gained her degree she decided to continue in education from 'the other side of the fence!' She describes her move to Castle Carrock as 'one of the best moves of her career' and has taught in all four classes, the longest being Class 3 and Class 4. As well as helping to develop children's futures she has the added reward of supporting student teachers as she as our Lead Mentor in school. She is very proud of her role in moulding a future generation and is looking forward to many more years here at Castle Carrock!
Class 3 Teacher - International Link Teacher
Tom enjoys listening to reggae music and has travelled around Europe attending different reggae bands. He loves travelling and has visited many lovely countries; living and teaching in Sydney, Australia, being a highlight. Even though sometimes it’s frustrating, he is a keen Carlisle
United supporter and attends all home games and many away games in a season.
Class Teacher - PE and Sports Coordinator
As the PE Co-ordinator here at Castle Carrock Ann enjoys a wide variety of sporting activities, both team games and individual sports. Currently plays competitive gold for Carlisle Golf Club. Ann also enjoys fell walking and cycling along quiet roads and trails especially whilst on holiday!

Clerk to the Governors
Helen moved to Croglin with her husband in 2007. They have a son who was born in 2013 and he will be attending Castle Carrock School in September. She work as mortgage adviser as well as a clerk for the governors. She enjoys most sports and is very competitive!
