Our Mental Health Champions are committed to helping others feel safe, happy, and supported in school. They actively promote positive wellbeing by nurturing a culture of kindness, teamwork, and respect both in the classroom and around school. As part of their role, our kind and caring Mental Health Champions provide help and support to their fellow students when they feel upset or worried, want someone to talk to, or just need a friendly face. Additionally, alongside teaching staff, they help to organise and lead wellbeing activities and ‘Press-Pause’ days throughout the academic year giving students opportunities to relax, reflect and focus on their mental health. By spreading positivity and looking out for others, our Mental Health Champions play an important role in creating a positive school environment.

Our Behaviour Leaders are committed to ensuring that behaviour at Castle Carrock Primary School is exceptional. By taking on this role, they are responsible for promoting and encouraging positive behaviour in the classroom and around school by being a positive role model to other pupils. As well as modelling exemplary behaviour, they demonstrate kindness, good manners, and a readiness to learn— setting an example for others to follow. In addition, the Behaviour Leaders help to decide on behaviour rewards and recognition for pupils who consistently ‘do the right thing’ or go ‘above and beyond’. Each week, they also support Mrs Lee to organise and lead our Celebration Assemblies– a highlight of school life here at Castle Carrock.

Our River Team Captains and their deputies lead their teams in the continual quest to be the best they can be, embodying our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. With strong leadership skills and a spirit of good sportsmanship, our Team Captains organise and lead a variety of fun team events and activities for pupils to enjoy. As part of this commitment, they ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate, often supporting the younger members of our school community to develop confidence, build teamwork skills and experience a real sense of achievement. Their dedication culminates in the chance to lead their River Teams towards victory in our annual Sports Day competition at the end of the academic year.

Our School Councillors play a vital role in making our school the best it can be. They ensure that the ideas and views of all pupils are heard by gathering suggestions to be discussed at School Council meetings. As representatives of their peers, they are the driving force behind making important decisions that improve school life for everyone. With commitment and enthusiasm, they assist in the organisation of fun events and activities, from raising money for charities to contributing to whole-school and trust wide initiatives. Above all, our School Councillors act as ambassadors for our school, demonstrating our core values in all they do, striving to make a positive difference for the whole school community.
